Product Summary:

Durapet Slow Feed Stainless Steel Pet Bowl

Don’t wolf down your food! There’s a reason this saying exists. A Durapet™ Slow Feed stainless bowl has a domed center so your dog can’t take more than a mouthful at once. Slower eating and drinking means improved digestion and nutrient absorption.

Features:

·         Domed center prevents “scooping” as your dog eats for more efficient digestion

·         Helps with conditions such as indigestion, vomiting, gas, aspiration pneumonia or bloat (GDV)

·         Super durable and long lasting

·         Won’t harbor bacteria, more sanitary and hygienic than plastic bowls

·         Will not leach harmful plasticizers and colorants

·         Bonded rubber ring stays on bowl and provides a secure grip

·         Available in a range of sizes to suit any four-legged friend

·         Dishwasher safe

Consistent with the description, it is recommended to let your pet eat slowly, which helps in their growth and prevents bloating.

GSP's get bloat very easily and the previous, plastic, slow feeder I have is causing a fungal infection on my dog's chin.

I liked the reviews and the current dish I have been using for 9 years is showing its age. Needed another one made of Stainless Steel for my fast eater to slow her down.

I have a dog that eats too quickly and this bowl got good reviews.
Gerard J on Nov 11, 2017
I currently use & have used this bowl for over 10 yrs . it's extremely durable - has lasted through dishwasher cycles, bleach, detergents etc. the blue non skid bottom wore off on the water bowls but not the slow feed bowls.
it doesn't slow the eating as much as the pegged center bowls. they dogs can still grab food from the sides, but overall it does the trick. i would prefer a metal pegged bowl ,but they don't; seem to last as long. I am donating these to a large breed rescue.

Need to slow my dog's eating and this bowl seems as if it will fit in his current raised feeder. Most all these types of bowls are made to sit on the floor, which is bad for larger dogs who need raised bowls. But this bowl's design seems like it will fit.
Adam B on May 23, 2016

My male Collie; Lad, gulps his food, then tries to steal his sister's. Of course; I don't let him, but slowing him down will be healthier and better for all of us!!
