PanaKare Plus is used as a digestive aid in replacement therapy where digestion of protein, carbohydrate and fat is inadequate due to deficient exocrine pancreatic secretions. For: Dogs and cats. Benefits: Enzyme replacement therapy to improve quality of life for animals with deficient exocrine pancreatic secretions. Fortified with vitamins A, D and E. How it works: PanaKare Plus contains pancreatic enzymes which help to digest fat, protein and sugars. It is mixed with food before each meal. What you should know: PanaKare Plus enzymes are derived from whole, raw pancreas of pork origin. Tell your veterinarian if your pet has an allergy to pork. In cases of chronic pancreatitis, replacement therapy may be necessary for the duration of the animal's life. How to give this medication: For dogs, feed 2-3 tablets before each meal. For cats, feed 1/2-1 tablet before each meal. Frequent feeding, at least 3 times a day, is important. Give this medication exactly as directed by your veterinarian. If you do not understand the directions, ask the veterinarian or pharmacist to explain them to you. If you miss a dose: If you miss a dose, give it as soon as you remember during the same day. However, if you don't remember until the next day, skip the dose you missed and give the next one as directed. Do not double dose. PanaKare Plus should not be used in: Do not use PanaKare Plus in pets that are allergic to pork. Possible side effects: Some patients may exhibit reactions, including allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; swelling of the lips, tongue or face; hives), diarrhea or loose stool.
