Great product for tiny runt pups that may be a bit chilled. Always great to have newborns lay on a heat pad shortly after birth when mom is still in labor. We wrap towels around the perimeter to keep the pups on the pad. Lasts a long time and can also be used to transfer neonates to the vet in cold weather.

Already have two that I have used the past couple winters with great results for my cat named BeBe, stay warm for hours (she refuses to come indoors), warm them in the microwave and place them under fuzzy blankets in side her cozy house and she spends hours on them, life saving item I think!

I have used the microwaveable pet warmer for 2 years for a little feral cat. It has been great but recently I noticed some of the fluid had leaked out. I would recommend this product.

I've used this product in the past but after non-use for a few years I needed one again. It has been impossible to find in my local pet stores. I'm so glad you offer this product. It has been a saving grace in the past for the strays that I help in the cold weather, which is why I needed one again. Thank you.

These are absolutely great to keep cats warm. Going to the vet in cold weather I always put them in the carriers.

Retired national rescue volunteer for sick, fragile small dogs, this is a life saver. I could work and know the tiny ones would be warm & not burn or chew through disc. Still use them for tiny senior & even very tiny chihuahua. They last three years before they only stay warm for a couple of hours. I sleep through the cold winter night or with air conditioner on, and they are warm in their beds and blankets. Used product for 12 years.

do they come with a cover?
A shopper on Oct 7, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes, there is a fleece cover that can be removed for washing. Velcro strips keep cover closed over heat disc.
How big is this exactly? And would it fold to fit into a cat tower? Thanks!
DARLA M on Nov 28, 2013
BEST ANSWER: It's not quite as big as a frisbee. It wont fold. It is hard. Picture 2 frisbees sandwiched and glued together at the seam. Its filled with some sort of gel maybe. It works well and holds heat for a long time but it is rather hard. I used it under a towel or blanket for the stray kitty that was here last winter. Hope this helps Darla!
what are the contents of the pad?
Donna O on Dec 12, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Inside the soft flannel cover, is kind of a hard plastic disk, like a solid Frisbee. You put that in the microwave, for the time it says, and then slip it back into its cover. I used mine in a small outdoor cat house, and they seemed to stay warm for quite a long time. .
Can I heat it longer than advised?
A shopper on Jan 6, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I heat them about 6-7 minutes if totally cooled down or first time heating them, microwave is fairly large. While it's been this bitterly cold I will reheat them a couple times throughout the day maybe for just 3-4 minutes depending on how much they have cooled down, sometimes only a couple minutes. I place them in my cat's outdoor house (refuses to come indoors so this is how I have to keep her warm) which is a large plastic storage container with a square hole cut into one end, have a very thin blanket lining the plastic, fuzzy blanket inside on the floor of the container then a blanket wrapped around the container and tucked under the sides, leaving the entrance side shorter so she can go in and out. Heat the 2 snuggles and tuck them in under a layer of the fuzzy blanket, my third winter doing this and she loves her heated house. I have come to learn that the snuggles stay warm much longer as long as the animal is laying on them. You just have to check on them while heating in microwave so you don't go overboard with the heating time, I have bought 5 of these total, just got 2 new ones recently cause they were on sale, always place them in the Velcro pouch and like I said I use them under a fuzzy blanket. Hope this was helpful and hope this info benefits someone with an outdoor animal or feral.
On line it say to heat in 1200 watt microwave for 3 minutes on the package that it came in says 1200 watt for 4 minutes. Both say don't over heat. So how long should I microwave the snuggle safe for??
Diane I on Jan 14, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I have a small microwave - 675 power. I have 3 Snuggle Safe Pads. I heat one at a time for 5 min 45 sec and put them in an Igloo outside for a cat that wont come inside. One is put in at 8pm and two at 10:30pm and they last until 8:30 am and are still warm when I bring them inside. The temp got to 0 degrees last week and the pads stayed warm. The igloo is lined with a silver warming sheet, a cat bed and a fluffy blanket..and one happy 14 year old cat that someone dumped in the neighborhood. I use one for temps between 52 and 40. Love, love this item. Extra covers would be good to have as the corners tend to tear..don't know where to get them. I would guess that it depends on the animal that is using the pad as to how long you heat as it does get warm. Always use a cover, wouldnt want to burn your baby. Once I used the pad on my aching back.
Can I add extra time to heat disc?
A shopper on Jan 6, 2018
BEST ANSWER: No. That's not in accordance with the instructions. To solve the problem of a disc that's gotten too cool to be effective, I purchased additional Snuggle Safe Pet Bed Microwave Heating Pads. I have 4 because my 5 pound poodle has 3 beds (1 each in the bedroom, living room, and study). I keep one disc as a spare and rotate using the other 3. I heat one right before I go to bed at night because she sleeps in her own bed on the floor. During the day, I leave the disc in her bedroom bed (because it's still warm) and heat up another disc for her living room bed. If I'm working in the study, I usually just move the disc from the living room bed to the study bed, but sometimes heat a separate disc for the third bed. We live in a very cold climate so we purchased 3 K & H Deluxe Lectro Heated Kennel Mats--to place 1 under each of her 3 beds. This is a barrier to the cold from the floor seeping into her beds. It also helps the microwaved discs stay warm for a longer period of time. The medium sized kennel mat fits just right under her oval cushioned bed.
Can the Snugglesafe pad be put directly on the straw in my feral shelter?
Patti M on Dec 13, 2018
BEST ANSWER: My feral cat 🐱 has 2 snuggle safe but she sleeps in a large plastic container lined with a thin blanket then the snuggles are under a blanket she sleeps on, I would imagine you could do that if it is not too hot or bury it down under some straw.
I don't have a microwave, how can i heat this up?
A shopper on Dec 28, 2015
BEST ANSWER: You can't. This product is specifically designed for heating in a microwave. If you don't have access to one, do not use any other heat source. The good news is that it stays warm for hours. So take it to a friend or neighbor to heat it up then bring it home.
