Works for MANY dogs, but not all.
I have been using this product for 11 years as a dog trainer and love it. Consider your dog's personality. This spray makes it feel like your dog is pottying on another dog's urine. If your puppy has a more dominant nature, this spray is more likely to work. However if your dog is more submissive/shy, this may actually work as a deterrent. If that is the case, then after your dog pees, dab the urine with a paper towel and stamp the wet paper towel around the pad. That way you are making your shier puppy feel like they already gone there and it's ok to do it again. Tends to work better with puppies 5+ months old, since not all younger puppies care either way yet. Great price here. Its worth a shot!

The idea of this product is great
I like the idea of this product, but I am not totally sold on it. I used it on a training pad for my puppy and he instantly went and sniffed it, he has peed in the area that I sprayed but still goes every where else also. I have no tried this outside, yet but will do so when the weather gets a bit warmer and the puppy is outside more.

Review
For the people giving this product such a bad rating. This isn't some magic formula that makes your dog go potty where sprayed, that would be too easy. You still have to train your dog, this just makes it easier. I spray in one spot in my yard and every time my puppy has to potty, I take her to that spot. When she goes potty in the spot, I praise her and give her a treat if I have some in hand. She has gotten used to the fact that when she smells the spray, that's where she has to potty. So now every time I let her out, she goes to the spot where I sprayed. Eventually you wont need to spray because they can pick up on smell from their last outing. As you can see, it's still training and that's what the bottle says, "training spray."

So wanted it to work
Dang, I thought I found my "simple solution", no pun intended, lol...My dog literally goes out of her way to avoid the areas sprayed. Even after 5-10 minutes, she will jump over the area to get to the other side. Oh well, it sounded like a good idea...good thing it didin't cost too too much.

works for me!
Hmm...lots of bad reviews on this product. I'm a trainer. I work with dogs at my home for 3 weeks at a time, and many of them for potty training. I have been using this product for 3 years to train dogs to potty in litter boxes or on wee wee pads. Sure, it doesn't work for all of them. But I would say it works for about 80% of them. I love this product and I recommend it to many clients. When it doesn't work, I just dab a pad or some litter in the dog's urine. But I've seen that, for the dogs that don't care about the spray, this method often doesn't work either! Then you just have to get creative. :)

My dog is 12 yrs. old, goes to the bathroom on my rug I bought 4 months ago, what can I spray on it so she won't go on it ???

BEST ANSWER: First you'll need to clean it using an enzymatic cleaner or vinegar and allow the carpets to dry. There are commercial repellents available in the form of sprays and contain different chemicals or natural compounds such as cayenne pepper that dogs don't like and avoid. I'm not sure we have anything like that but if you can, sprinkle some cayenne pepper on the carpet after cleaning it. Hope that helps.
