Comments of other readers convinced me of the quality. I hope they're right! I always use rolled leather collars for my dogs, because they're the most comfortable and the least likely to cause matting.

I have owned rolled leather collars before and they are comfortable for my dog, easy to buckle, and long lasrting.

I have a Pomeranian whose hair is easily matted with fabric collars. I hear the rounded leather collars are less likely to cause matting, and some reviews seem to validate this theory. I hope it works!

Some of our long coated breeds get hair tangled up in the nylon collars. The rolled leather is better.

I saw this on a friend's dog and I really like the thin make. I hope our dog likes it as much as I do.

Is the hardware brass or nickel (or stainless?)
L H on Jan 1, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The Collar ring and buckle is stainless. It is holding up really well. This collar is designed for dogs with short necks. It rolls and not so easy for them to wiggle out of and looks nice on a short neck.
My dog has a 9" neck. What size collar is suggested?
Spanky on Nov 18, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Typically, add 2" to the circumference of your dogs neck to get the size collar. In your case a 10 or 12 inch would work. This is a great collar and has lasted my dogs for years. And my dogs have put these collars to the test. ;) One of my dog's neck is approx 20" and he is wearing the 24" collar due to the gap in sizes. It works out good on the last hole.
How wide is the front leather of this collar on 16",18" and 20" length collars?
Mark and Judy H on Oct 16, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Hello, the part you are questioning is approximately, 1 inch wide.
