Keep the mess contained, Control draft
Carol A on Mar 12, 2018
Our squirrel gets stressed when things get too loud from having guests. This won't necessarily help with the noise, but I'm hoping "out of sight, out of mind" will help keep him calm... Time will tell.

I hope the privacy cover will help me to give my ferrets a true "night time" even though we have the lights on for several hours at night. I have read that having total darkness at night is important for the ferret's melatonin levels.

So excited to try this. We want the cage in our living room but worry about privacy for the animals, and the kids constantly disturbing them. Hoping this solves our concern. Seems so great!!

Keeping your ferrets out of the day light (especially because they sleep about 18 hours a day) is very important. Cover works great
Desiree B on Jun 30, 2015
Rats require a certain number of hours of darkness. The place where they can be safe from the dogs has 24/7 lighting. Hence, a cover to give them their darkness.
Marilyn A on Jun 10, 2015
Nice looking cover. On sale.
Teleca D on May 23, 2015

Linda a on Jan 1, 2015
I was happy to find a cover made for the cage I just ordered, otherwise I would have had to use a sheet and ferrets like to pull them in the cage.

frances r on Oct 28, 2017
We have water bottles that attach to the outside of the cage. Does this work with those?
A shopper on Oct 5, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I have two water bottles on the outside of my cage as well. The cover still works, it just doesn't close tightly around the cage. This doesn't bother my babies at all. I love having the cover in my "little kiddos" home.
Is the nylon thick/stiff or is it thin? (My rats try to chew anything soft within their reach)
M. E on May 22, 2016
BEST ANSWER: While the cover fits very snug to the cage it is not particularly thick. My chinchillas do not chew the cover, but having rats myself previously I am pretty sure they would still chew this cover. It fits in flaps that Velcro on the corners and I know rats are very michevious and would probably grab every flap.
Will this fit the newer 180 series (model 182)?
Hedley on Apr 17, 2016
BEST ANSWER: 1800Pet Supplies description says it is designed to fit the 142, not the 182.
Is this machine washable and can it go in the dryer without shrinkage/damage?
A shopper on Feb 21, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I'm not sure if it is *supposed* to be washed/dried, but I have done it several times and will do it again when it gets dirty. It came out just fine. It did not appear to shrink, but the fabric is less stiff than it was when I first bought it.
do you guys offer a privacy cover that will accomodate a triple stack unit? if not, is it possible to custom order?
kachowww on Aug 25, 2015
BEST ANSWER: We do not have a 3 tier privacy cover for the ferret/critter nation cages. I did some investigating and wasn't able to find one. The manufacturer of the cage doesn't have them either.
what is it made of?
jerseypink on Apr 7, 2015
BEST ANSWER: It says 100% polyester but feels and looks like nylon similar to an umbrella material maybe a tad thicker than that. You cannot see thru it except the corners are velcro and they can peek light there so I place towels over the corner sides for complete darkness.
Can you open the front to expose both layers/entire front of the cage? Or just the bottom half?
Star* on Feb 22, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The picture shown displays the flaps folded up. YES, it does open completely to show both sections of the front cage. There is Velcro on the side of the "flaps" to connect the material too. This cover is perfect for a two story cage, but if you place it over a third story, then expect the lower section to be exposed.
Would this cover work if I only have the lower level of the cage?
Tami O on May 1, 2014
BEST ANSWER: If you only have the lower level of the cage. It should still cover. The only issue is that since it was made to cover two levels, you will have a great overhang which would bunch up the cover so it wont fit snuggly on the cage .
The lower level is the same dimensions as having to levels. Its just that the height of the cage is different.
I wouldnt get this tho because of the amount of over habg you will have. Yes you can fold the front flaps up to make them shorter. But the others you can't.
