I have a 200+ mastiff and this looks like the best brace to use for him. Every now and then he limps pretty bad and we think from a prior fall he has not fully recovered. We have tried everything and we think this will help him recover. He is good for awhile and all of a sudden the limp comes and goes. We will see how this helps him.

Does it replace Acl surgery?
A shopper on Jun 29, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Hi there,

Per the Manufacturer, you would only want to use this with Veterinary supervision. It can aid in the healing process, but it is not intended to replace surgery from what I have gathered by researching their products. I would definitely bring up this subject with your Vet. Good luck!
My 5yr old yellow lab ruptured her cruicate on her back leg! Can not afford surgery right now would this help until we could get surgery (IF)? Thank You!
A shopper on Oct 30, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes. It helped my dog for her particular injury. Your dog may not need surgery if you restrict her activity completely for 8 weeks. Keep her in a kennel or put a leash on her in the house. My dog's knee has healed and she can walk on it short distances. I only put the knee brace on her when we walk outside to go to the bathroom. We are at week 8. You still have to keep your dog from running and jumping on the leg for another 4 months to let the rupture heal completely without surgery or your dog may reinjure the leg.
how does this strap on the dog? It would be helpful to show other angles of how the protector is held up.

how do you determine right or left hind leg?
A shopper on Dec 20, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Are you asking how to determine which leg is affected? It would be the DOG'S left or right, meaning if you and your dog are both looking in the same direction, your left and his/her left would be the same.
What is the right size for my 100pound lab?

I need a medium large right knee protector?
A shopper on Mar 2, 2019
BEST ANSWER: It depends on what type of dog it is and the size of his/her leg. I would have went with medium or large until an orthopedic veterinarian told me I needed it in XXL. They said this was the best rehab knee brace. It worked to stabilize her knee when we went outside to the bathroom and when she stood to eat her food. The rest of the time, we did not let her walk on her leg (for six weeks). We dragged her around in the house on a folded up moving blanket. The knee protector worked and her torn ACL healed without surgery.
Could this be used after ACL tear surgery?
Donna D on Nov 19, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Hi Donna, I bought this for my dogs first ACL surgery and it did not fit well enough for it to stay on. My dogs legs are a bit stocky. I would recommend for dogs with long, thin legs. It also won’t be good if the dog has it’s stitches still in- it could be irritating. My dog did fine without any brace and he has now had both of his ACLs repaired. Just got to watch them closely! :) hope this helps!
What size brace would I purchase for my 22 lb Bichon with a ccl injury need?
Sheri D on Nov 22, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Please refer to the size chart:
what keeps the brace on?
A shopper on Nov 21, 2017
BEST ANSWER: There is an adjustable strap that goes over the back, around the abdomen in front of the back legs.
My lab had acl surgery in January. It's still sore. Do you think this would help with recovery? Also is this a neoprene brace?
Rob L on Nov 18, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Your first question would need to be discussed with your veterinarian/surgeon, as each dog heals differently. As far as your second question, yes it is made of neoprene.
Can I use this brace for surgery recovery? As an extra along with the e-collar?
Karen E on Nov 9, 2017
BEST ANSWER: These can be used in certain cases in conjunction with surgery recovery, however this is a question you really need to discuss with your veterinarian.
how does it stay on?
A shopper on Nov 8, 2017
BEST ANSWER: There is an adjustable strap that goes over the back and around the belly in front of the bag legs.
When will you have xsmall back in stock?
A shopper on Nov 5, 2017
BEST ANSWER: At this time we do not have a ETA. If you'd like, please feel free to enter your email address and click the "Notify Me" button. You will then receive an email when it comes back into stock.
How do put on the brace?
Dogredblck on Nov 2, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The knee protector must be pulled up along the leg to sit well. This is done by stretching the
knee protector up on the dog’s leg to cover the dog’s knee properly. Lead the soft strap that
holds the protector in place under the abdomen and over the back and fasten it on the
corresponding touch fastener on the outer side of the protector.
