Fantastic Toy
My German Shepard Puppy spends quite some time tossing and chasing this ball. It has a handle on it which she grabs with her mouth, enabling her to carry and run with it.

What is your pet?:
Dog - Large
Itâ??s tough. Got large to play with husky & lab. A smaller one would work better.

They are really good toys, my boys destroy the handles fast. Could you recommend something that strong without handles?

not what I expected
I though this would be a soft rubber based on the photo, but it is made of a cheap, hard plastic that my dog chewed through in just a few minutes of play.

Longest lasting dog toy yet
Our 2 year old great dane can destroy any toy we give her, but this one is lasting! She was able to put many tooth holes through the ball on her first day with it (and many more since), but it still works perfectly.

great dane (1 year old) destroyed the handle part within 2 minutes. The rest is holding up well though hence the 2/5 stars

Best dog toy
I have had the Jolly ball for horses. My dogs always loved them. but they are only for the big dogs. I have smaller dogs now, and I purchased the 5 inch balls, and they are great. I bought three of them, for all three dogs, and they have a blast chasing them, and picking them up by the handle. It is so much fun to watch them. They know when I get the Jolly balls, its time for fun.I didn't know they came in this smaller size, but I am definitely going to keep stocked up with them. They are also easier to retrieve from the dogs mouth, then a tennis ball.

dogs chew through handle in 20 min,but love it
Very conflicting. Our dog loves these and I buy them for an animal shelter. The handle is chewed through in minutes and some dogs swallow little pieces. The ball itself is virtually indestructible. If this had a better handle, I would buy them by the dozen.

Amazing And Indestructible!
My border collie/poodle mix absolutely adores this! I wasn't entirely sure if it would be worth it and it definitely was! I bought the largest size not entirely sure if he'd be able to or even willing to fetch it but sure enough he chased after it. Because it's not perfectly round due to the handle it makes him think about where the ball is going to bounce next after I throw it. The weight is fine for him, he's about 60 pounds and the largest one he is easily able to carry around without a problem. I would give it 5 stars! We've had this thing for years and it hasn't let us down yet.

she has had one of these for 1 yr. she loves to mash it down, over time it will not pop back into shape. this is her all time favorite. she is a dogo, 90 lbs. she is so strong, this toy is great for her force when playing.

Have never purchased this type of ball, but see many German Shepherds who seem to enjoy them, and not destroy them in the first 15 minutes. So, I thought I'd give it a try.

Kirstine L on Feb 24, 2014
I have had the really large jolly balls for my big dog, and she loved carrying it around. It lasted forever. I throw tennis balls for the smaller dogs, and thought they might enjoy this type of handle to carry the toy around by. they also last a lot longer then tennis balls do.
Theresa K on Dec 16, 2013
I chose this for my Chow Bull (Pittie Chow). I am hoping that since he likes to tear up my neighbors soccer balls, he will enjoy this too! LOL!
Jennifer L on Nov 21, 2013
My puppy is in love with this ball!!! I have two German shepards and I have had this ball for almost a year now, it is still in good condition. The older GSD usually breaks all balls except for this one.

Are these balls soft? I purchased one online & it was nice & soft which was great. Then I got another which was hard as a rock & did not like. So I am looking for the balls to be on the softer side. Thanks
Pamela G on Apr 30, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The Jolly Balls that I have gotten were semi hard. I have bought several of the largest ones that have the handles and I've bought the large ones with the ropes. My chocolate labs love both types but they chew the handles off and pull the ropes out. The ones with the ropes are very hard. After the handles are gone and the ropes disappear, it's hard for my dogs to do much with the balls on their own. We end up playing kick ball and the dogs chase after them. They are difficult for the dogs to retrieve. I have 3 balls in my yard right now.
Is this toy made of vinyl?
A shopper on Aug 21, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I believe it's made of polyethylene, which is different from vinyl. If there's an issue with vinyl (like an allergy, or something like that), you can contact the manufacturer (Jolly Pets). I have three of these for my dog, and they're very durable, although eventually my dog did chew off the handle portion of the 10" ball.
