Herm Sprenger is the BEST!
Herm Sprenger prong collars are the BEST made, IMO. Like any collar, it needs to be fit properly and used correctly!!! I compared prices before buying these extra links, and this was the best I found. I do training classes, and always need a good supply of these collars as well as extra links. These collars need to fit high on the dog's neck...right behind their ears...and fairly snug. NOT hanging loosely! They are 'self correcting' in that you should keep the leash slack. If the dog pulls, they will be correcting themselves. Please read some instructions before using them. I do not recommend them for aggressive or fearful dogs.

Herm Sprenger prong links are par excellance!
The HS products are of the finest German manufacture. I have been using them for many decades. I have tried others to save a little money but have always come back for the excellent quality of HS. The tips of the prongs are round, not cut off rough or sharp. The steel is German and the chrome plating is triple plated. I have never had one rust or chrome flake off. these will last a lifetime. I can count on getting consistent sizing each time I buy additional links or collars.

Recommended by dog trainer so I could buy the 14-inch collar and add links, because she does not like the longer prongs on the larger collar.
Jeanmarie H on Nov 13, 2017
they only offered 20 or 22 and my dog needed a 21 inch

To increase the length of the prong collar because my german shepard mix has a lot of extra skin/fur around the neck area.

Small prong collars often need more links for larger dogs. The larger sizes and weights are often unnecessary. on average we have to use 2-3 more links on each small collar making it very pricy.

How do I measure the prongs? What part of the prong should coordinate with the size of the prong you're selling?
Holly W on Jun 24, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Each one represents the thickness of the prongs. If you look at the actual collar each one has different diameters (thickness). Hope that helps.
I adopted my dog with this collar and need to purchase extra links to expand the size. I cannot determine the correct size of prong?. I thought I measured at 2.25, but the prongs I received are much smaller.
A shopper on Jul 15, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Here are the four sizes: SMALL: 14" LINKS 2.25mm MEDIUM: 18" LINKS 3.0mm. HEAVY: 20". LINKS 3.25mm. X-HVY 22" LINKS 3.9mm
I need four lightweight links, are they $2.10 for each link?
Kevin Z on Sep 18, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I bought 3 lightweight links to extend a 14" lightweight 2.25mm sprenger collar to 16", 1 extra just in case. They were $1.47 each. Make sure you are buying the correct mm size to match your collar.

I have a 120lb presa canario with a neck size of 22in....what size herm sprenger prong training collar would you suggest to work for her? And how many additional prongs would I need to get? I am wanting to train her to walk without pulling.
Crystal S on Sep 25, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Hi,
Since you already measured the pup and it came out to 22 inches the size chart recommends that
you add 2 to the 22 which will make it size 24. I would would do the heavy weight 20 and add 4 links
which equals to 24.
How much length is added per added prong?
A shopper on Aug 28, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Each link would add 1 1/8" of length to the collar.
how many links per package?
A shopper on Jun 26, 2016
BEST ANSWER: one!
a regular collar comes with 10 links.
