I have dogs that are very agile and can easily jump a shorter gate and it has a cat gate for our cats to go through.

I needed a taller gate because the dog was jumping our current gate
Barbara B on Nov 21, 2015
I have a VERY large Lab, who is perfectly behaved, until no one is home, so he must be prevented from going into certain rooms. I also have a tiny Pomeranian who is NEVER a problem. So, this is the perfect idea . . . limit the big one and not punish the little one :) So, if the product matches the idea . . . we are set!

The 42" gate was the tallest I had seen
Robert J on Jul 26, 2015
I was in the need of a gate that would be able to hold a Siberian husky and a shelty sheep dog in one part of the house. This was extra tall and much cheaper through 1-800 pet supplies.

Tall, white matches decor, strong metal construction, can go in doorway or hall way to section off pets when needed, and after stepping over a baby gate for years went with the walk through type. I think the cat will appreciate the pet door too.

Does the cat door lock???
A shopper on Mar 19, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Yes, the cat door locks so cats and small animals cannot go through it. But my cat is easily able to jump over the gate, so it's a moot point for me.

Extra Tall Gate Extension 24Inch
Extra Tall Gate Extension 24Inch
BEST ANSWER: Katy, I was in the same boat as you with 2 of my doorways. The way the extensions are designed, you can Mix & Match them to get the coverage that you need. Just remember when doing your measurements to include the padded feet or frame anchors.
How many section will I need for an 83" opening?
Diahanne P on Nov 14, 2016
BEST ANSWER: This gate will only extend to a maximum of 40" and that is with additional panels added. I do not believe this gate would be able to be used to cover a 83" opening.
