Not for our dog and here's why:
If you have used the "bottle of coins" as a way to train your dog to NOT doing something (like get on the couch, for example), then this toy filled with dried dog food will pretty much sound EXACTLY like this. So my dog cowered away from this toy the moment he heard the noise and he wouldn't go near it.Now this isn't a knock on the toy but had I thought more about it, I would have realized that this toy would not work for him due to the training and conditioning methods we use on him.

Did not work for 2 labs
Had high hopes these ' interactive toys' would be a nice deviation for my 2 labs but they did not work well. Hard plastic cubes.

Not a favorite of my puppy
My 25 pound puppy doesn't care much for this toy and I'm not sure why except that it doesn't move around as easy as rolling treat dispensing toys. Even when it's full of tasty smelling kibble, she bats it a few times and then walks away.

GREAT PRODUCT
I bought this for my puppy. She figured it out very fast and it helped keep her busy for a long time.

Perfect for a chihuahua
Our Chihauhua gets bored when we're gone during the day, and when he gets bored, he eats carpet. We had a few food toys, and they worked great, but he was getting bored with them and he had figured out all of them, so we purchased two more to help keep him busy. We purchased the small buster cube, and he LOVES it. We have carpeting, and the first day we played with it with him when we were home and he caught on very quickly. We have to put his dog food, and small treats in there for him. If we place just the regular food, he isn't interested. We crumble up a few treats, and he loves to roll the cube and "gamble" to get a yummy treat. When we go to leave the house he just sits and waits for us to put this toy down, and he is playingwith it before we even close the door. Our chihuahua had figured out his old toys, so we purchased this one because it's a puzzle inside which can be made harder. It's working great and we aren't even on the hardest setting yet after two months. Our Chihuahua is 10lbs lean, so it's great for a dog his size.

isn't quite sure of this yet
my 8 month old beagle mix hasn't quite figured this out yet. i'm sure he'll get it soon. i got it for him to try and get him t eat slower; he wolfs his food and then pukes it back up. he doesn't like that it takes him so long to get fed, but he does get occupied trying to get the food out. i think i like it more than he does.

Great Toy-sorry so long!
Ok. First I would like to say this is a GREAT toy overall, but it is not for everyone. I have three dogs, a min-pin 12lbs.(miniature pincher), a Jack 22lbs, and a boxer-bull mastiff 80lbs. All three love this toy. The small size was fine for my min-pin, and I also bought the larger size for the boxer-bull mastiff(he can chew the small ones). I love how you can adjust the settings to each dog(but it was VERY tricky to figure out how to set the toy from easy to hard- I felt like a dumb-dumb who couldn't operate a dog toy!!! :) It also took some getting "used to" by my dogs as it is VERY, VERY noisy and teaching them how to get the treats. But I found it was easy for them to take to- if they can roll a ball around with you they sure can do this. Make sure you introduce it properly. It is also super hard plastic and I wouldn't use it on wooden or tile floors (carpet, rug, or outside only!!!)first it could damage the hardwoods, and second it doesn't roll like it should as it will just mostly slide. It needs to turn completely over to dispense the treats(they work down through levels). But they just love it and is really good for dogs who are chewers- very resistant. I have substituted meals in this, or just filled it when I left them alone a home. I would say on average it takes up to 15 to 20 minutes of "full attention" play to empty it on hard. I would estimate the small one holds a good 1/4 of a cup of food- give or take- and the food for it must be really small kibbles. I have found the hard ones (their reg. dog food) work best as soft ones can get stuck. But I love it- I leave and don't have to hear the racket of 3 dogs and 3 balls being batted around, and they still play with them even after all the treats are gone.

Buster Food Cube does the trick!
We have a very smart and active German Shepherd/Husky mutt who needs a lot of stimulation. While both of us love to take her for walks, play, and to the dog park, we're Doctoral students and need time to work too! We have a couple of other treat dispensers that are soft latex...she enjoys them, but they're both just too easy and she gets through the treats quickly. She is also a chewer, so if there is any teeny tiny imperfection in the latex, she gets to it and rips at it! This toy is much more difficult for her to get to the treats, and the hard plastic and size makes it nearly impossible to chew! (the only reason I say nearly is that our girl is a pretty slick pup and might just find a way)as fast. As an added bonus, when a setting gets too easy, you can change it! The only downside is that the toy can be loud. When she first got to it the noise frightened her and she barked at it, but when I showed her that the sound was made by food, she went to town, batting it all around the apartment! Thank goodness for wall to wall carpeting! I would recommend this toy whole-heartedly as a fun way to feed your pup (if you're worried about extra calories) or to activate their hunting instincts prowling for treats!

GREAT TOY!!!
I got the small ball for my bichpoo and he loves it. Its the only toy that will keep him busy for hours. I have recommended it to all my friends with dogs!

loud, but my dog LOVES it
I'm a big fan of interactive toys and out of all the other food dispenser toys I've tried, this is the best one for my small dog. It is a bit loud for the homeowner but my dog loves it.

We had this item for over 7 years. It was the only toy my Aussie Cattle Dog could not chew through (besides a black kong ball). This year it finally broke, we fixed it with epoxy and she broke it again. She jumps on it with both paws and sends it flying, bouncing around. she noeses it, pushes it and just delights in it. she has been missing it, so here I am buying 2.

We feed her breakfast and dinner with the cube - it's fun for her and keeps her from gobbling up her food so quickly.

Live these for when dogs need to me in out door kennels. I feed their breakfast in here and it keeps them busy.

I have a Giant Schnauzer and she gulps her food when she eats. During my research on how to slow her eating down, I saw a video online that recommended this cube.
