Rated 4 out of 5 by sierra Great food, bad shape
I agree. I have used this food for my babies (4 total thus far) for over 2 years and love the benefits of it's ingredients. I thought my little girl just had a "smaller roof of her mouth" and that was why it always seemed to get stuck, but my 3 boys (way bigger than she was) have the same problem. They all get it stuck at one point if I don't break it up some. I don't add water or other kibble, but do feel I have to break up in order to keep them from getting it stuck. Zupreems other variety has a more friendly shape, they need to change this shape.

Rated 4 out of 5 by GeorgieP Great product, ferrets love it!
I did a lot of research before buying my first ferret. I learned that ferrets are obligate carnivores and require a minimum amount of both animal fat and protein and should not have much, if any, plant fillers such as corn. So I was shocked when most of the ferret foods in the stores around town had corn as the second ingredient listed. So I decided to shell out a little extra $$ for this quality ferret food. If you truly love your little fuzzbutt you will want to give them the best...I believe this to be a quality ferret food.. Not to mention my little guy loves it! He is a Marshall ferret so in order to validate his 1year warranty I was required to keep him on Marshalls food for the first year, however I started adding ZuPreem to the mix and he stopped eating the Marshalls, I found that he had picked out all the the ZuPreem. Great product,I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who loves their ferts.

One of my male ferrets has an enlarged spleen that tends to get swollen when he eats a treat. I read the ingredients to this food and thought I would see if it helped. IT DID!! His spleen never gets enlarged anymore. He can eat a treat with the rest of his siblings now. I love the fact that there is no corn in it! Wonderful product. Thanks!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Amy Very pleased!
I adopted my 3 babies in September & switched them over to Zupreem & one other food. I am very pleased with how active they are, how nice their coats look & it does seem to help some with the poo smell. They all gained weight & look great!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Madii Better than Marshall's!!
I got my ferret, Jinx, a week ago from Petco, where he was of course, being fed Marshall's. He immediately took to ZuPreem and he eats the heck out of it!! The shape of the kibble is a bit odd, so I grind the kibble up in a food processor, then moisten it with warm water. I was going to buy ZuPreem "GrainFree" but they didn't have it at the time. Definitely worth the buy, though, be sure to mix your fuzzbutt's food with other kibble!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Ashley My little fuzz loves this stuff.
Every since I got my little fert, jasper, he's been eating Zupreem for a year. I switched him off of Marshall's and he immediately took to this food. This is the only dry kibble I feed the little guy and he is as healthy as can be! Energetic, playful, attacks things that aren't there... As for the people who have mentioned the shape, I have never had a problem with it, nor has he. I recommend this to any fert owner that love's their kid.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Genna Good food, Agree Dangerous Shape
My 2 ferrets love this food. However, I agree with the previous post that the food is a terrible shape. I have had to remove pieces of food with tweezers from the roof of my ferrets mouth multiple times. It's unknown how many times she's had to struggle when I am not there. I have started to dampen the food so that it is softer and less likely to become lodged.

i just got my second ferret two weeks ago and switched him from the recommended low quality food to Zupreem. What a difference in the smell! Plus his coat is starting to get shiny. He loves it but he hates ferretone. I love that he doesn't need supplements with Zupreem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Daphne U Love this food!
I had taken my ferrets off of Marshall's, as they seemed less energetic, and just laid around, not wanting to play. Once I switched them, I have seen a world of difference!! They are leaner, play longer, more vocal, and seem happier with ZuPreen. I'm glad I made the switch!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Kiley S. Makes your ferrets HEALTHIER
I never realised just how much food impacts my fuzzies life until I switched them from the cheap, low quality brand to the Zupreem, and the difference is amazing. My little one, KiKi, was so sickly, and in the 6 months leading up to the switch was seriously ill 3 different times, for over a week each time. Since I've switched them, over 3 year ago now, she's been sick ONCE, when she got ECE from my new boys. I highly HIGHLY recommend this to every ferret owner I meet. My boys get into EVERYthing, and chew up a lot of stuff they shouldn't, but (*knock on wood*) they've never had a problem yet and I firmly believe that this food has something to do with that.

I have used this food for a number of years now, mixed in with other food. I have never had any problems whatsoever with food getting stuck in their mouth with any of the ferrets I have had. One of my current ferrets is an extremely picky eater- she doesn't even really like treats- but she took to this food with no problem at all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Trish Scored in Top Three Best Foods!
After my newly one-year-old male lost too much weight for me to handle (my son, who also has ferrets, tried telling me they all lose weight when they get that age.)
I told him, "No,there is something wrong." As he also looked sickly in his eyes, (Moms can always tell when their children are sick by their eyes.)
I decided I better do some research.
I came upon a study that put ZuPreem, EVO & Sheppard & Green in the top three of ferret foods for the healthiest food content.
I am so MAD & SHOCKED after reading what the other top name brands are so full of and the bad ingredients they KNOW IS NOT GOOD FOR FERRETS, yet put in anyways, for the almighty buck, PROVING THEY COULD CARE LESS ABOUT FERRETS!
They should be FINED or taken off the market for the crap they throw in our little loved one's food!!!
Up to this point I had tried most of the ferret foods, but when I put out ZuPreem, my skinny little guy immediately devoured it!
I am so happy to report my boy is gaining weight and his eyes tell me he is feeling better!!!
This is also the FIRST FOOD that is EMPTY from their cage bowl in the morning!
My other younger ferret loves it too!
ONCE AGAIN, I GET TO HEAR ONE OF THE BEST SOUNDS I HAVEN'T HEARD IN A LONG TIME-THAT OF MY HEALTHY BOY NIBBLING ON HIS FOOD IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT.
And, who cares about how their poo smells as long as they are healthy, right?!!!
Like the saying goes, (with editing done, of course) AND YOU THINK YOUR "POO" DOESN'T STINK?!!!!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by Chelsea Great nutrition, but dangerous kibble shape
I just switched my ferret from Marshall food to Zupreem a couple of weeks ago. She took to the new food almost immediately, and I am very pleased with the nutritional content of Zupreem vs. Marshall food. She liked the Zupreem so much that after only a few days I was able to cut out mixing in the Marshall food and she did just fine. However, I do have one serious concern about this food. The kibble pieces are the perfect size and shape to get stuck in the top of my ferret's mouth and choke her. I have seen this happen a few times while she was eating, and I'm sure it's happened numerous times that I did not witness. She has to stop and use her hands to dislodge the piece from her mouth, which is very difficult for her and painful to watch since I cannot help her. Needless to say, I will no longer be feeding her Zupreem food, which is unfortunate, but I don't want my ferret to choke to death. I really wouldn't recommmend this food to other ferret owners, at least not without warning.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Bryan My lil Buddies Love it!
ZuPreen is a great 'Mixer' Food but I don't recomend it being the Sole food. I feed it about 4 to 1 (1 being the zupreen) and the other, another brand that is private label. But I have watched, I have 7 fuzzy buddies and they will ALL dig through the food bowl to find the Zupreen. Then will eat the rest. Great Skin, Hair is Beautiful Bright eyes, and TONS of energy! And Ferrets.com Always has a great price on it.. Just wish it came it larger quantities.

My ferrets took to it very well, I would say within 3 or 4 days. Plus it is fairly healthy and purchasable at local stores if you are in a pinch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Sonn My picky ferret loves it!
I was surprised when one of my ferrets who shuns almost all food dived into the food bowl. It does make his poop smell quite a bit worse but I can live with that. Even after only a week he looks and smells much better than he did with the bad food he was on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Christina THEY LOVE THIS FOOD
My two ferrets love this food! One of my baby ferrets was not gaining any weight on the previous food I tried feeding them until I bought this food. Within a few days of eating this food he began to gain weight. He is now at a very healthy weight and is doing wonderful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Simon By far the 2nd best food for your Ferret!
Zupreem is by far the 2nd best food for you ferret on the market. I have two Marshall ferrets and upon feeding them Zupreem mixed with EVO I've found that they are more alert, active and have a much more shiny coat then with ANY other combination of foods. Zupreem is cost effective for a food based on a RAW diet. EVO is the best but cost much more. So for people on a budget but that want the best for thier fuzzies, then I definitely suggest Zupreem!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Diane Arnold re: Corn Gluten as binder
I contacted Jennifer McDaniel, Sales and Marketing Account Executive for ZuPreem after reading the comment that Danita posted stating that Corn Gluten was used as a binder. It would be interesting for her to contact ZuPreem to see what other ingredient may have been the culprit of the apparent allergic reaction. Jennifer reassured me that they do not use corn as a binder, but rather, Beet Pulp. She also reminded my about abruptly changing food and what it can do the the intestinal track of a Ferret. I am just switching our 10 week ferret, Matty to ZuPreem and will write another review later. Hopefully this information is correct and clears some confusion for those of us new to ferret patenting.
