Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Product! I have been looking for something like this for a long time. My windowsills look great now and my dogs jump up on the window less because they can't get a grip on the plastic! They were easy to trim and install, thanks! December 28, 2011

We are doing over our windowsills and the dog likes to jump up when a car goes by. We used plexi the last time and they did not last. Excited to try these out.

I just had the window sills painted and wanted to protect them.

This sounds like it can be cut to size if I need to - is that right?
Laverne H on Jan 7, 2014
Best Answer: The window sill protector is an awesome purchase and works great. the velcro tabs keep it in place and it is hardly even noticeable. My 70 lb lab jumps up on the sill everyday.
As far as sizing it, I do not know for sure. It certainly looks like it could be cut with a small fine tooth saw. It is sturdy but I think a small saw could trim it. You would probably want to sand the rough edges a bit too. Sorry to not be of more specific help. Good luck.

Can I cut the protector shorter?
A shopper on Feb 11, 2015
Best Answer: Yes, it is a thick plastic but one that we cut (with a small handsaw) to fit our windows. You may end up cutting out the areas that have the adhesive attached, so pick up some foam tape if you do this to make sure you can still securely attach them.

Does it damage the wood when removed?
A shopper on Jan 10, 2015
Best Answer: The shield is held on with two dime sized velcro circles. The adhesive used to hold those seems pretty strong so it might damage the wood if you don't remove them carefully. Since it's velcro you can remove the plastic shield anytime without damaging the wood.

I'm a little confused by the size? Our windows are 44 long and 2.75 deep.
Would I be able to cut them?
Isabelle M on Nov 4, 2015
