Calories Analysis

This food contains 3,550 kcal per kilogram or 405 kcal per cup ME (metabolizable energy) on an as fed basis (calculated).

Transitioning to Wellness: It is important to slowly transition your dog from his/her current diet as it takes a few days for the body to adapt to the new nutrient levels. To transition, gradually mix in the new food over a 5-7 day period, increasing the amount of Wellness each day, so that you are feeding 100% Wellness by day 7.

Determining Feeding Portions: Looking at the chart below, divide the total cups per day by the total number of times you feed your dog per day to determine the portion size for each meal. Keep a clean bowl of fresh water available at all times. Wellness believes in feeding dry and wet food in combination whenever possible to help increase the level of water in your dog's diet.

Nutrition is only one part of the equation! Be sure to give your dog plenty of love, plenty of exercise and see your veterinarian regularly to help ensure total wellness.

Recommended Feeding Portions (Based on a standard 8 oz dry measuring cup)

Best Dog Food, 1/3/2010

Shelly from MI

I only feed my dog Wellness brand. Honestly, I could not stomach feeding my dog any of the grocery brand foods, because they are basically garbage. If people actually paid attention to what is in grocery brand dog food, they would be greatly disturbed. After adopting our puppy, we started her on Wellness. She so so much energy and the most beautiful coat we've seen on a dog. I understand that Wellness brand is pricey, but I would not feed our dog anything else.

I would like to say Thank-You for listing the ingredience of the foods that you are selling. This helps a lot if your dog has allergies. Your web site is in very great taste. Easy to find what you need. Thank you, Nancy

After researching the top 40 brands of dog food, including premium brands, I found Wellness Brand to be superior. Wellness ranks the highest for healthy ingredients as well as processing mode. A few of the benefits of Wellness Brand... only human grade ingredients, no extrusion process, no nasty rendered meat, no nasty meat by-products, no CORN or corn meal (dogs DO NOT EAT CORN) therefore no mycotoxins or aflatoxins to slowly poison my babies!!! This is the only dog food I will include in my furbaby's otherwise holistic raw diet. In other words, Wellness Brand is as nutritional and healthy as it gets for dry dog food. My furbabies get 2 meals per day, only one is dog food, the other is nutritionally balanced human food that I make at home. It may take a short while for your dog to adjust to the different taste of Wellness, so introduce it slowly by mixing it with their current brand of dry dog food.
