After bringing my Ferret to the vet and being told to buy this in place of his current Fiesta Ferret food, I went ahead and bought it. I noticed a decent increase in overal health. However, he's about .9 lbs under weight and seeing as how he's been on this food for about 2 1/2 months, 38% protein is not enough. I just bought EVO Ferret food and I'm optimistic.
On a side note, I'd also like to point out a few things I've read in these reviews and educate some people. First of all, Ferrets lack an appendix and a cecum, meaning they cannot properly digest vegetables or fruit, i.e. raisins. So for anyone who is feeding their Ferrets raisins, cranberries, apples, bananas or even Cheerios (?) as treats, STOP! That can cause significant intestinal blockage, which will result in a costly surgery.
Secondly, if you feed your Ferret cat food, STOP! It's called 'cat' food because it was engineered for, you guessed it, cats! I don't understand why people feed their Ferrets things like raisins, cat food or cereal, as if they did not research whatsoever and simply give what they find in the cabinet.
Now hopefully that'll save a few Ferret's lives. Thank you and good night.

I am a very, very picky momma when it comes to feeding my fuzzbutts.
It is insane to me just how many "ferret" foods have ingredients that their little carnivores bodies cant digest.
This was one of the best ingredients lists I could find.
AND my ferrets love it! The pieces arent huge nor are they crumbs. The food stays moist and smells wonderful.
My babies poo hasnt smelled unbearable but that could be due to the wonderful Marshall Ferret Litter.
I thoroughly recomend this kibble :)

both my boys love it. it didnt take very long for them to switch over to this and they LOVED IT! their coats became softer and poofier. their teeth looked amazing and their nails were in great shape. they did so much better on this than ANYOTHER kind of food! i wouldnt change! plus its hard to find a food that they both like and they both did. only downside is half the time its out of stock. i know its because it popular but still!

I learned some years ago that ferret and hedgehog foods are virtually the same. When I could no longer get my hedgehog food of choice, I started looking for a good ferret food that compared nutritionally with the hedgehog food. Totally Ferret fit the bill perfectly. And the hedgehogs absolutely love it.

I have used just about all of the ferret foods out there and this is the best. One of my ferrets was abused and came to me with a head injury that caused motor control problems. The shape of this food allows her to eat without choking on it. All of my ferrets are thriving with thick soft coats, heavy muscle and more energy than I have ever seen with any other food, (Even my senior ferrets). I ran out of Totally Ferret and had to use a different one till my shipment came, my ferrets snubbed the other foods and ate them grudgingly. I noticed that they pooped alot more and it was stinkier when they were eating other foods.

We recently took on a pair of new ferrets, who had been fed dog food. The female being younger had somehow managed her weight, but oh the poor little boy was skin and bones. After 1 month he is now an active healthy 2 year old. This food is the best of all we have tried.

I just want to correct Stefani from Riverside. It is NOT the food that turned your ferret yellow, it is the change of seasons! He excretes more oil TO keep his skin healthy and coat thick and shiny, AND he'll gain weight to keep him warm! This is THE best ferret food you can give him. Keep him on Totally Ferret, and watch his color turn back to normal in summer! Your vet will also tell you about the sebaceous glands and more oils that ferrets excretes during winter.

I bought 2 bags of this food, and yes I did see a difference in one of my ferrets. He has a shinier coat but he also gained a lot of weight! Also their coat (I have two ferrets) turned yellow-ish. B efore I would feed them 8 in 1 and their coat was whiter. Not as shinny and fluffly but now with this food it turned their coat yellow. I would recommend it but I dont know why it made my ferrets coat turn yellow. Im going to try EVO see if that fixes the problem.
IF anyone knows why this is please email me at darkrazm@aim.com

I have 3 ferrets and this is the only ferret food that they will eat. I have tried other brands but they just walk away from it.
They are very healthy and I wouldn't use any other ferret food.

My ferret loves this stuff! He was previously on Marshall diet before we got him him, and was extremely skinny and had low energy. When we fed him Totally ferret diet, he was much healthier and had a shiny coat and bright eyes. his energy level was also much better. This is a great ferret food.

You cannot beat this price and my fuzzies love it. Price per pound per quality is unbeatable. Store it in air tight containers and it goes forever!

I have had numerous ferrets over 14+ years and right now I have six. I adopted 4 from a shelter where I was introduced to Totally Ferret (previously used 8 in 1 or Marshalls). Compared to my previous dookers their coat is amazing and soft and their energy levels are ridiculous. They love the food and if I leave the bag out they will dig/bite holes in it and hide kibbles all over the house.
I HIGHLY recommend this product, although I wish more retail stores sold it versus ALWAYS having the order it online. But, ferret.com is the place to do it :)

My Boys absolutely love this food. I tried several different kinds of food when they stopped selling this brand at the pet supply store that I always shopped at, and they wouldn't eat any of it. I finally found this food on this site, and this is all they will eat! They are extremely picky eaters so it was great that there was something here for them. The only problem is that it costs a ton.

I have tried many different kibbles, even mixing some. When I added Totally Ferret into the mix they started picking out just the Totally Ferret and leaving the rest. I no longer mix just give my 5 this kibble. They are more active and their coats are lush and shiny!

Ever since my ferret started eating this kibble, she started growing lush, beautiful hair. I always thought my ferret was old/ geriatric because of the way she looked and I got her from classifieds where the owner didn't know her age. Well, after using this kibble, I noticed her bald spots started being covered with lush fur and her tail got much bushier. I don't know if this is relevant, but it may be no coincidence!

I've researched like most everyone on this site about ferret kibble and which was the best and in my opinnion totally ferret is one of the top. I mix Totally Ferret and 8 in 1 which does the trick for my little guy...I tried to get him on EVO but he absolutely hated it.
cheers

This is great ferret food. The ferrets love it; but it's just so darn expensive. You're paying more for the brand name than you are for the food.

I have been using this food for over the past year. My fuzzies feel great, have awesome coats, and are all around happy little weasels. It's a high quality food that is good for them and I feel it's at the top of the market 'food chain'. :)

This is one of the top 3 foods I like from ferret.com as far as Ingredients are concirned. Ferrets love it and my cat always shows up for a piece when im filling the ferret bowl. I always buy my 3 favorite foods and combine them for my ferrets. I like 8 in 1 ultimate even better, and Zupreeme is ok. Stay away from any food with corn in the first 5 Ingredients.

I researched proper ferret nutrition and every kind of food available for an entire day and nothing beats Totally Ferret. I realized that the "quality" food I was feeding my little girl was actually slowly killing her. It didn't have even CLOSE to the nutrition she needed and there were chemicals in it that are known cancer-causers! I switched her to Totally Ferret that same day. I think everyone who uses this food agrees that it's better to pay the high price for quality than to pay the even higher price for vet bills.

I ordered this and it took about two weeks for it to actually get to my house. But overall it better than buying a small bag every week at the pet store. And it saved me money :)

So I've tried different ferret kibble and my ferrets would eat them, but they never ate them with as much vigor as they do now with their Totally Ferret kibble. I was really shocked to see all three of them lick their bowls clean now. Especially the youngest one that hardly ever ate. And now she is gaining more weight and looking so much more healthy. Not only does this kibble smell better than other kibbles, but so does my ferrets' feces and they are more solid. I always ignored this kibble because of the price but it's really worth it.

This is the best food ever!!! Everyone said oh keep them on the Marshall diet, but since I changed their food their coats are healthier and shiny, they are happy and healthy, and we have yet to go to the vet for anything other than checkups. Would not feed them any other kibble...

This is the best food for your ferret. When I first got my girls, they ate Marshall Ferret Food. I took them to the vet and she said to switch to Totally Ferret. The change was amazing! When they were eating the Marshall food, their feces always smelled, now, no smell at all. They also eat better and are more active. Great food. And great company!
