My Mitzy has a very sensitive respiratory system. When we first got our three furries we tried the kind made from recycled newspaper but Mitzy sneezed like crazy. Then we tried the swheat scoop made from wheat but talk about a mess. Then we found this, it doesn't irritate Mitzy and it's the easiest to clean up!

yes, HARD TO CLEAN.
oh and smell? AWFUL.
It does nothing for cutting down smell.
It certainly wasn't worth the money (even it's $4)

When this stuff gets wet it makes a hard-to-clean goop. It didn't seem to do much for odor control, but I do have 4 ferrets. Said ferrets love to dig it out of the box and have the little balls everywhere, LOL. It did however get the fuzzies to start using the litter pan about 95% of the time. Not sure if I will keep using this or not.

I bought this litter because it had such high reviews and was such a good deal on ferret.com. My ferrets do use the box with no issues, but my problem is with the cleanup and smell of the litter box. I have to change the litter at least once a day, sometimes two and three times. The litter does nothing for cutting down smell. Also, once the litter absorbs moisture it breaks down into a nasty paste that's impossible to scoop out. So I end up wasting a LOT of good litter in the process of trying to get out bad. Needless to say, I've run through many bags and it's getting expensive. I'm switching to something more cost effective in the long run and something easier to clean.

I have tried other litters and either they are dusty or sandy. This one the ferrets don't kick out of the litter box and it obsorbs well. I am very happy with it.

I was skeptical about how well this would hold the pee but it's done a wonderful job! I'm able to just scoop it right out with no problem. Of course there are a few good balls of litter that get caught in the crossfire and get scooped with the bad but all in all I'm very pleased with this litter!

This is great. It's the only litter my ferret will use. Easy to clean up and controls the smell. Definitely a great deal! This site is amazing--way cheaper than ANY petstore!

I bought this due to good reviews. I have been using it for about a week now, and my fuzzy loves it.. only.. not as a litter. She is very excited that mommy bought her thousands of tiny toy balls though. I'm not an overall fan of it as a litter, as my guys throw it across their ferret room.

I get this litter for my ferret and I mix it with yesterday's news and it works great.I potty trained her on this litter and it was great, she does tend to snorkel through it when the litter is clean but that's fine since she doesn't eat it.

I don't have a ferret, I have a rabbit. At first my rabbit spun around and did all kinds of "tricks" in the litter and moved her pan around in her cage.
Then she decided she liked it and uses it faithfully.
The rabbit pee smell is GONE ! YAY ! My daughter's bedroom smells normal now. You cannot tell she has a rabbit in there now.
I line the bottom of the pan with absorbent cage liner and put the litter on top. Works well.
My only complaint is the cost. It's rather expensive.

I've had better luck with this than with any other litter. Although the urine does eventually make a gummy mess of the litter on the bottom of the litterbox, I sprinkle a little of my cats' crystal litter in the bottom of the litterbox when I change it, and that helps a lot.

I have tried every litter on the market and my 3 fuzzies prefer "the pearls" paws down! If you put enough critter litter in the pan, you won't have the problem of sticking. Since it clumps so nice it is easy to conserve litter. You can make it stretch! It eliminates ordors much better then any of the ones I tested. I'd give it 5 stars!

I did not like this littr at all! It was very hard to clean up because it kept on sticking to the bottom of the litter pan. I always had to clean the whole pan and replace with new litter. I did this about 2 or 3 times a week. It was wasteful andI ran out of it in about 2 weeks! I use regular cat litter now and it is a lot faster to clean up.

I mix this with the Marshall's ferret litter. I used this alone and it was terrible- very dusty and everything, but it did eliminate odors really well. Now that I mix about one cup of this with three cups of the Marshall's, I LOVE it! Best litter combo ever! Perfect absorption and perfect smell control!

I would not recommend this product at all. I have been a ferret owner for 20 years, and have used many types of litters and will not use this one again. It is very hard to clean off a cage bottom, yet can be very dusty. I also had quite an insect problem with this litter I am not sure if it came that way, or even with diligent cleaning it attracted bugs.

I've been using Marshall Farms newspaper litter or Yesterday's News for the 6 years I've had ferrets. I tried Critter Litter based on the reviews here and was very disappointed. The Critter Litter did not reduce odor, in fact it smells worse.
The pearls do absorb a lot of moisture, but then they break down into a powdery paste that is difficult to clean out of the pan. I'm sorry I bought two bags of this litter, because I will not be using it.

This is THE best litter. When I first got my ferrets, they were impossible to litter train. I tried all the yesterday's news and other kinds of litter out there. My ferrets just always chose another spot, until I got critter litter. And it absorbs really well. Deffinalty cuts down on urine smell.
