My ferret has been eating S&G for nearly six years and he loves it. It is a good size and texture, reduces the smell of his feces and it promotes healthy digestion.

First off I want to thank everyones reveiws. It helped a lot. My two ferrets were raised on a type of ferret food that they loved. Now they changed the ingredients in it and it does not smell to good. They would barely eat it. Then I looked on here saw these wonderful reveiws for this food! When I gave it to them they LOVE IT! I am one happy mommie :) Thank you again for a wonderful product and great customers.

Being that my ferrets are extremely picky eaters (and I've heard that most are) I find it hard to find dry food they will eat. I have found 3 they will tolerate, and I have witnessed them actually picking this food out of the other two foods! One of my ferrets will not eat out of the bowl, so he digs out what he is going to eat. As soon as my other lazy ferret hears the recognizable sound of the food hitting the floor, he comes running. This is the first food they both pick out! Then they leave the other two laying around until they have no other choice but to eat it ;)
Nutritionally, it seems to have everything that ferrets require in their diet as well.
Lastly, it is true what everyone says about this food helping to diminish cage odor. I don't know how it works, but it does!
I definitely recommend this food to other fur-butts :)

This product is great , its what I've been feeding my ferrets since I brought them home from the pet store almost 8 years ago. I've tried swithcing brands to give them some variety but they don't like it as much. It's a great price for a great product. I highly recommend it.

We have 8 woozies, all of whom are rescues. They were mostly fed cat food when we got them. After trying Marshalls and Zupreem, we have returned to the S&G. They all love it, have soft, full coats and lots of energy. I only wish I could get it in bulk, we go through 4 to 6 bags a month.

We have 8 furbies: 3 females and 5 males. All of our little ones love this food and seem to be doing very well on it after about 3 months. Our littlest female, who had ulcers, eats this food and has rebounded, gained weight and has a nice, soft coat. All of them have good energy, eat it well, and have thick, soft coats. Litter smell is down compared to Marshalls and Zupreem. Only wish we could get larger quantities, I have to order 3-4 bags at a time.

All my ferrets since my first were feed Sheppard & Greene Ferret Food. It was recommended at the pet store and my furbies have been healthy, energetic and poop oder is lower than when I tried other brands. Of course I still use bio oder in their water also.

I had all of my gang on this kibble and never took them off of it. They hardly got sick, and when they did it was for short time. They have great fur, skin, bright eyes, strong, healty muscles and a general healthly look. Also minimal if any hairballs. Had them on Marshalls for a bit since our local pet store stop carrying it and they did not touch it with a 10 foot poll. Put the Marshalls and tried the other big boys in thier cage and they looked at me with a curious look. They had to eat it for a bit and then they started to get the "ferret smell" in their poo, pee and fur. Drove about 20 miles to stock up on Sheppard Greene, yes, it was a bit on cash, but you know what . . . their were happier and the "ferret smell" was at a minimum, har could tell we had our gang. Our Ver Dr Adamson was amazed how this kibble Sheppard Greene makes a diffrence in the wellness of the gang of 7, or as we call them the Magnicifent 7.

I had no choice but to feed my fuzzies Marshalls ferret food when I got them from the pet store. They did ok with it but I had to purchase Bio Odor to add to their food to help keep the ordor down. Once I started using Shepard Green I found I no longer needed to buy Bio Ordor and my ferrets love it! I started with two ended up with seven...and now adopted three more from a family that had to move. The new additions had no problem switching over and their coats are now soft and fluffy. One was missing hair and that has now grown back. Oh on two of the new additions are not decented and they do not smell anything like they use too. I recommend this food over anything I have tried!

All three of my fuzzys love this food. Their potty box oder has decreased and they have more energy. When I was feeding them another brand they were smelly and sluggish. Your fuzzys will gobble this stuff up so keep a couple bags on hand. Worth every penny.

I have been using this ferret food for about two years now and i don't think i will ever switch. I have a little sensitive girl who was experiencing lots of hair loss and looked very malnourished when i adopted her. Within the first month of using this food her hair grew back and she gained weight. For years she's been as happy as can be and stable with her weight and hair, and i love this food!

I purchased this food because of the praise i've read about it on this site and another site, I can't speak for my 6 week old Jimmy Norton but as I type this he is eating it now as I speak, I caught him on the top level of his cage just now, his lil ferret cries woke me up, so I moved him to the bottom level of his cage and he immediately went for the food. I guess he likes it. If your ferret is a lil baby it's a good idea to soak the food in warm water to make it softer so they can chew it better. I just got my ferret last night, he's so friendly and seeks tons of attention.

I thought because the price was a little higher it would be a nice compliment to zupreem if for some reason they stopped making zupreem. my furkids did not happily eat their food. they were ok with it if it was fed as a treat but reluctantly ate it when mixed with zupreem. I found this purchase a waste of money because my furkids did not respond to it well.

All four of my ferrets love this stuff! Compared to the Marshall's brand, their litter box odor has become extremely better. My only problem is that this food is very expensive at regular pet stores and it has corn and corn products occurring twice. I'm planning on introducing a new food shortly and mixing it with this from now on.

Ferrets aren't supposed to have corn. And the first 4 ingredients should be meat(usually can only find 3). But not this food!!! Do not feed this to any ferret!!!!

My vet has worked personally with the ferret expert in Chicago. According to her studies, the 1st three ingredients on any ferret food source should be protein. Unfortunately there are very few products that meet those guidelines. I would recommend Wysong food for ferrets. Very good for them! It has also been found that the BEST diet to put your ferret on is a live diet. Frozen mice would be a good alternative.

Our little guys seem to like it as their two bowls will be close to empty by the next morning. It does not reduce litter odor though which is my only complaint. Not as high in protein as some of the other foods so I think I may be switching soon for a better over all diet.

I bought Rascal from a pet store and they recommended Marshalls food. However, after researching the basic diet of ferrets I found they dont typically eat fish, and fish is the second product in Marshalls food. Thus, I switched to Sheppard and Greene because of the high protein content in the form of chicken. Not only did his poo smell much less, but he LOVES Sheppard and Greene. He used to eat Marshalls only when he was absolutely starving, but now he eats several times a day, thanks to Sheppard and Greene.

This is the only ferret food with real meat as the first ingredient, rather than a meat byproduct. Its the only brand that all of my ferrets like. Ive never had a problem getting any of my ferrets to eat this food, even if they came from another house and were used to a different brand. Given a choice, my ferrets always choose Sheppard & Greene.

Ive used every brand of food out there, including the high priced preion feed for my ferrets. This brand of feed is highly palatable for all of my ferrets, especially for the extremely picky eaters. Ive never had a hard time getting them to eat, and they dont dig in the food and waste it. More impressively, on the bag its guaranteed to reduce litter box odor and waste. Amazingly enough, they are right. I noticed a difference in the amount of waste they produce and also in the odor within a day of feeding.

When I purchased my ferret his cage came with inexpensive ferret food. After reading up on ferrets I decided to purchase a premium ferret food. I read s ingredient and nutrition labels and opted for S&G because of their real meat primary ingredients instead of by-products, high protein content, and low moisture and fiber content. I mixed this new food in with my ferrets old food and he ate all the S&G pieces and left his old food in his bowl. Seeing how much he clearly favored this food and knowing how much more nutritious it is for him made it more than worth it to spend the extra money to purchse higher quality ferret food.
