Litter pan woes

I now have two two-level FN cages for my rescue. The key to the low sided litter pans is to get one or two High-Back pans, or get some Sterilite or IKEA storage boxes and cut them down in front and partly down the sides with a razor knife. Put some duct tape over the long cut in front to protect the boys' wee-wees. If the kids move them around get some 4" clamps and fasten the box in place.

the sides do need to be higher so i took my litter pans and cut the front step off and glues them to the pans. It works great as a high corner so they dont go over the side with their mess. i have seven and its hard to get them all to be litter trained. they are however corner trained.

Quality Great, Could Be Taller Options Though

In agreement with some of the reviews below, the pans are low; however, the key to these pans is having the pet litter box trained. I have 2 year-old-rats that I only recently potty trained, and did so successfully (95% of #2 makes it to the box). This prevents the potty from going everywhere. I do wish there were trays with higher sides to potentially use paper bedding materials though, as my ladies mark everywhere.
Still a great product.

Great cage

This is the best cage on the market. We were on the waiting list when this cage first came out on the market and it has been the best addition we have made to our ferret collection. I am happy to see that there is a replacement tray available now. We keep our tray covered with a ferret blanket and it keeps the trays in almost as good as new condition. After probably at least 3 years of use one of the trays has finally cracked and needs to be replaced but otherwise the cage is great. As far as the sides not being high enough to keep ferret acidents within the cage, we use a large litter pan on the bottom level and we do not have any accidents to speak of.

The cage is very nice, altho we cannot use it because the pans are not high enough, when they potty it goes all on bars and the floor. It would be nice if they were higher on the sides so this would'nt happen! Like the cage, but it sits in basement because with pans being so low it makes a terrible mess!

Im so glad to see they are offering this now it was the only thing I was worried about with the ferret nation cage after having mine for a year now the pans were looking kinda shabby with some "accident" stains that just wont go away so being able to replace it means I will only use ferret nation cages!
