Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome for Extreme Chewers! We got an American Pit a couple weeks ago and have been trying to find something he will chew other than my hats, shoes, and carpet. I can't get him to take a Kong and the only things he will chew on that I give him are raw hide and bones from the pet store. I bought this to try out and I'm amazed. It took a couple tries to get him to take it, but once he did, it's all he wants. I was worried I'd have to buy a new one with the way he's chewing it, but I looked at it this morning and there isn't much damage to it yet. I'm definitely pleased with this product. I'm looking at buying some for my in-laws who have 3 more pits. Dog.com has them for half the price of the local pet stores. Great bargain! April 28, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by great for aggressive chewers We had quite a bit of trouble finding a toy that lasts more than a few hours or days for our adopted pit bull mix. Even toys/bones that said they were "indestructible" didn't last. This bone lasts the longest out of any that we have purchased and our dog loves it and chews it most everyday. I'd say it could last 6 months before it gets too small for him to hold onto. Since it is pretty big and heavy, we sometimes purchase other similar types of bones made for aggressive chewers for travel/variety, but this one is the best. Worth every penny! January 30, 2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by Long lasting I have a doberman and a pit bull that love to chew on everything i go through bone after bone with them but this one actually lasts awhile instead of only a couple days and they absolutely love chewing on it November 12, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great product I have two dogs, one a boxer who is not much of a chewer, the other a pitbull who loves to chew.We went through so many toys trying to find one that the pitbull could not destroy within five minutes.Saw this product online and decided to give it a try.At first he refused to chew it. Now as soon as I let him out its the first thing looks for and the last thing he chews before bed time. Since chewing on this bone his teeth seem much cleaner and he is no longer destroying other toys.He already went through 1 wolf size bone so last christmas we got him the next step up and I have to say its still hanging in there. As for the boxer she only chews on the bones after the pitbull softens it up for her. One draw back for me was it leaves a lot of white shavings all over and they get stuck in the carpet and the vaccume can not pick it up.Other than that this product is one the best out on the market for very strong chewers. And like one of the other posters said I can leave my dog with this product without any supervision because no big chunks come off and his gums dont bleed even after chewing for long periods of time. Rated 3 out of 5 by Agressive Yorkie I bought a pack of these for my agressive chewer, a 7 lb yorky. In one day she managed to chew one end so much it is got alot of rough edges. For a product that is "practically indestructible" my little girl made a mess of it.I guess I will have to try the wolf size. Rated 5 out of 5 by Galileo: King Of All Bones! I have two American Pitbull Terriers and this is the only bone for them. They chew constantly even at ages 2 & 8 and this is the safest, durable bone you can give an avid chewer. For what the product can withstand from your dog, you would think this bone would cost $20+ more(and you will in any store!)It is the ONLY bone on earth I would actually leave with my dogs unsupervised while I'm at work cuz there is nothing unsafe about it. The only tiny drawback is if it is dropped on your foot or on a hardwood floor when you have downstairs neighbors:) December 2, 2009
Rated 5 out of 5 by BEST. TOY. EVER. i have a great dane who is a super aggressive chewer. she can go through one of those 3ft long rawhides in a day. this is the best toy i have ever bought her. we tried the nylabone double-action chew bone, but were disappointed to discover that it isnt solid, so once she chewed through the end, she kept cutting her gums on the sharp hollow edge. had to throw it out with 2/3 of the bone left. however, the galileo is solid all the way through - we have had the souper sized one for 2 years, and it has finally gotten small enough that she has a hard time holding onto it while she chews. dog.com sells them for almost half the price of a pet store and it is the best money i've spent on a dog item ever. just watch your feet when your dog drops it, or else you'll end up with a serious toe-ache. Rated 5 out of 5 by The best chew out there I have two dogs one large and one small and this is both their favorite chew. It lasts forever despite daily agressive chewing. I would recommend this for any dog large or small to really get their teeth into. August 30, 2009
