Great product, 7/5/2012

jamielovesferrets from Vista, CA

This is a great product for my ferrets to prevent hairballs. I feel good knowing it will help cut down on the chance of hairballs, since one of my ferrets had surgery for an obstruction before :( My ferrets just lick it right off my finger. And I also use it for one of my ferrets to give his medication in (pill form). He just licks it right up. This is a great price here too. It's 10.99 at PetSmart! This is the cheapest I've found it. I'm very satisfied with this product.

Love, 6/21/2012

CAROLYN FAKTOR from Mobile, AL

Fuzzies LOVE this and it is easily administered! Gives me peace of mind knowing that my fuzz butts won't get blockages! I give a pea sized amount every couple days and a little more if their droppings don't look right!

Ferret Owner Must Have, 4/2/2012

Amanda from Dallas, TX

I can not stress how important and how much of a life saver this stuff is. I highly recommend getting them on it from day way to prevent problems in the future. Mine were unsure of it at first, but soon got hooked.

Awesome Product! , 10/12/2011

TERRY FORBES from Darlington, PA

I use this all of the time for my ferrets and it works like a charm! When they see me get they all start chirping and can't wait for their turn! They just gobble it right down! The price on here is unbeatable! At the pet store it costs anywhere from 7.99 to 8.99!!! It's always around 4.99 or less on ferret.com!!! Love it!

Check expiration date if ferrets won't eat..., 1/23/2011

K Pittenger from

Ferret lax is a life saver, no doubt. And, they love the taste! For those who say their ferret won't touch it, you might check the date. This, like any product with oil in it, can go rancid, making it taste awful. I've had to throw away brand new tubes before for this reason. It's a vital health care product for ferrets, as they can get intestinal blockages easily, even if it is just a large hairball.

Great price!, 1/7/2011

CDS from

I've used this in the past and then switched to vaseline. While it was a favorite of theirs for a while (its safe as long as its unscented natural product)suddenly they all decided they didn't want hair ball treatment anymore. I've read reviews that this has a lot of sugar but I'll take that risk to the one of them becoming blocked by a hair ball. They gobble this up a few times a week (half inch ribbons each) and as a treat for after nail clipping. Even my picky eater will lick this up like its candy! Happily the price here is AMAZING! I paid so much more at the pet store and with gas money included its cheaper to have it shipped to my house! Thanks Ferret.com!

make your own!!, 11/17/2010

Tracie from

I used to use this until I read the "ferrets for dummies book". She said to mix vasilene with ferretone and or ferrevite, I use both and my babies love it. Twice per week and they get extra vities the fun way. A little less than a 1/4 tsp per feeding. They don't want to stop.

Love it!, 11/18/2009

Alyssa from Bristol, RI

My first ferret, a boy, would never eat any treats we bought him so when he was old enough we tried this and he absolutely loves it. A couple of the girls don't really have a taste for it but then again they eat treats. We use it 2-3 times a week to prevent hairballs and it works great. Amazing for picky ferrets.

ferrets go crazy over it, 7/31/2009

Kate from Dayton, Oh

I have 2 little girls and they just love the taste of it. My newest girl wont eat treats...but she goes nuts over ferretlax. My older girl eats up treats like theres no tomorrow. However I have yet to really see if it works with hairballs and other blockages. My one girl is starting to have yellow/green poop and slightly thinner than usual.... she is refusing the duk soup but will still eat this so maybe this will help her.

They won't take it, 7/6/2009

Nick from Hinesburg, VT

None of my three ferrets will touch this stuff. It's like giving them flavored Vaseline. They just won't touch it. I have tried to give it to them with food, with treats and alone and they won't touch it no matter what I do. If you have finicky ferrets like I do, you probably won't be able to use this product.

THIS STUFF IS GREAT..., 1/28/2009

Jenny from USA

My ferret Daffy loves this stuff and it is helpful for her too. The only thing i hate about it is how it comes out the other end as a pile of gooey ooey moosh. (But thats normal): YUCK. It is also a good thing because thats how it clears the system out, from hair balls and other things your fuzzy could eat up off the floor. Other than the Gross POO the product is AWESOME and my ferret totally loves it.

Saved his life!, 5/7/2008

Jessica from Gainesville, VA

My ferret (when he was an only child haha) had an intestinal blockage at one point. I didn't even know it. He began to be lethargic, ribbony poos and was not wanting to eat. I LAXed him up and in a few days his poop had 2 hairballs in it. I am so thankfulfor this stuff, it's amazing. But if it's out of stock when I most need it, we all know you're supposed to use plain pumpkin (not pie filling, just PLAIN)in ther soupies. Such a wonderful product, I'll be using this on both my fuzzlers in the future for blockages and/or shedding season. :-)

My ferrets come running..., 2/12/2008

Meaghan from Norwich, CT

...literally RUNNING, when they see me get out this tube. They eat straight from it, and even go so far as to tussle over it and lick each others' faces/mouths. It works very well!

Very good!, 12/9/2007

Elizabeth from Morgan City, LA

This is the perfect thing for my ferrets! It's not sticky and goopy like a lot of other lax's for ferrets, and my little rascals love the taste! What's best of all is that you can just do it at home- other laxatives require a vet's assistance. This is like a treat to my furries!

No worries, 10/17/2007

Jessica from Paris, TX

Statistics state the greatest causes for ferret deaths is intestinal blockages, from hard plastics or hairballs. Thankful my ferret has never had any problem passing anything but I still give her this once weekly and have it ready for emergencys. I highly recommend have this handy it could save your ferrets life!!

A Must Have, 8/15/2006

Morgan from Savannah, GA

Ferret loves the taste, and it works great. Whenever I fear my ferret may be having difficulty passing something, or may have something lodged somewhere in his digestive track I use this. Just don't feed too much or it might make your ferret feel unconfurtable having to pass it. (Personal experience) Generally takes 1-3 hours to pass through my ferrets system. My vet recommended giving him a little bit once a week to help with potential hair balls.
