First, watch for symptoms of hairballs or blockages in your ferret's stomach. This can include: ribbon-like stool, loss of appetite, or dry coughing. Once identified, you can feed right from the tube up to one teaspoon two or three times a day for three to four days. After that use two to three times a week until or until symptoms resolve.

We use this for both ferrets about once a week for maintenance. It's great for a blockage also. That can be the culprit if signs are there. Haven't needed it for that since weekly treatment began.
A BIG drawback is the large amount of sugar. Not good for insulinoma prone animals like ferrets. They love it, but probably still would with less sweetener.

This helps distract them when cutting their nails and reduces the hairball coughing.
