Product Summary:

Lafeber Parrot Pellets Bird Food:

As a practicing veterinarian in the 1960’s, Dr.Ted Lafeber Sr. was treating pet birds and soon realized that these pet birds were suffering from malnutrition. Birds cannot survive on millet, canary seed and sunflower seeds alone. In 1975, he created the very first pet bird pellet recipe. Initially, many people thought he was crazy, birds eat seeds, not pellets, but then they saw the results… the birds eating pellets were healthier, happier and living longer.

Nutritionally Balanced:

Good health and a long life begin with proper nutrition and Lafeber’s Premium Daily Diet is formulated to provide exactly that. Lafeber’s Premium Daily Diet is a high quality blend of natural ingredients like corn and soybean meal. Both grains are literally grown outside Lafeber Company’s front door. We also add whole egg, the world’s most digestive form of protein.

The different grains are mixed and essential vitamins, minerals and amino acids are added.

These ingredients are necessary for strong bones and brilliant feathers. Lafeber’s Premium Daily Diet is omega 3&6 fatty acid balanced, naturally flavored and naturally preserved. Watch your feathered friend shine with the excellent nutrition found in Lafeber’s pelleted bird food.

Convenient Nutrition:

Since our pellets offer nutrition in every bite, pellets can be a full diet or an important part of your bird’s diet. Many owners have found that their birds love a combination of foods with their pellets such as Nutri-Berries, Avi-Cakes and various fruits and vegetables. Switching to a full pelleted diet can take time. Please be sure to read the feeding instructions.

Recommended Use:

Premium Daily Diet pellets may be fed as a maintenance diet or supplemented with produce or foraging foods such as Nutri-Berries or Avi-Cakes.

I"am getting a parrotlet..I was told to feed him roudybush pellets. I was wondering..if this was the same or just as good?
MaryEllen T on Apr 28, 2014
Best Answer: My parrots are 22 years old and years ago I did feed them Roudybush. I wound up finding bugs in the pellets on more than one occasion and switched to Lafeber's. Now, Roudybush may have fixed that problem in the years since I've used their products, but Lafeber's has been perfect for the twenty years I've used those. It's a wonderful, healthy product..always fresh and made with great ingredients. I use the pellets, the Nutriberries and the Avicakes and my parrots love them. All are complete diets. I also feed my guys fresh fruits, vegetables and Higgin's Worldly Cuisine, cooked diets. At least include some fresh vegetables and fruit with the pellets. But, pellets are definitely the way to go as opposed to seeds diets. Much healthier and well rounded diets. And, again..I can't speak highly enough of the Lafeber's products..they are top quality.
Also, Parrolets are very small birds..don't buy huge quantities of the pellets as they will last a long time with such a small bird and you want them to be fresh. Double check which size pellets to use, again because the Parrolets are so small.
