I have a 2 year old, 100 lbs. bloodhound. Once I got the correct size the product worked wonderfully.
I purchased this product according to the box recommendations which states that a size 5 would accommodate bloodhounds. Needless to say I had to return the product and ended up getting a size 3.
The product is a little over priced ; however, I am thrilled with how well it works.

I had high hopes for a pull-free walk with my German Shepard. Installed the harness and it took him one bite to destroy it. The strap material seems sub-standard.
On to the next collar.

I have a 1.5 yr old 55 lb blue pitbull and she's the sweetest thing but pulls like no other. I work for an animal hospital and tried the Halti collar. I loved it and she immediately walked right next to me with no problems and no pulling. I was worried about it being sturdy enough for her when I first got it and it ended up breaking just a few weeks later. She pulled and the clip for the leash just ripped right off of the fabric. If it was made better and had stronger material it would be perfect. The other issue I had is that she would flail and twist a lot if she saw another dog, there's no where for them to go with it on so the only way she could go was up by jumping. It made her look crazy and of course people just assume that pitbulls are vicious when they're not. I'm looking into getting her an easy walker harness because it has a similar objective but looks sturdier.

People think I have them in a muzzle, but when I explain the concept they say, "Oh, my dog needs that!" I have two big dogs and the Halti seems to be the best way to get their attention when they get distracted by the squirrels, ducks and people that cross our path in the park each day. Out of all the similar head collars, Halti seems to fit the best and is the best design.

This collar is awesome!!! But I recommend that you have someone show you how to use it the right way. I have a 86 lb. German Shepherd, he is a year and 4 months old. He is going through training school and his trainer recommended this. If you use it the right way, with the right commands, it will transform your dog!!!!! I am amazed! You have to be careful because they WILL chew this, if they can! I've had mine for 2 weeks, and he chewed it when we were in the car. But that is MY FAULT FOR NOT WATCHING HIM, NOT THE PRODUCTS!!! This collar is awesome. I'm in control now and my dog follows, he doesn't walk me anymore.

We use this product (size 1) with our Mini Schnauzer. He's very strong and always pulled us when walking. Ever since we got the Halti, we are all so happy with the outcome that we take much longer walks more often!

I foster dogs through my local rescue and currently have a Hound/Dobe/Rott type mix. He is only 60 pounds, but is VERY strong and has terrible leash manners right now. I ended up getting him a Size 2 (smaller than the recommended size) and it fits perfectly. Plus, he no longer pulls like a bear. It's a great solution to offer to potential adopters so they don't have to feel the need to use a prong or choke chain which could cause him harm in the hands on an inexperienced owner.
I had tried the Gentle Leader head collar, but the nose band push too much against the dog's lower eyelid and it seemed very uncomfortable and potentially dangerous. I love the Halti design.
I am VERY happy with my Halti and plan on getting one in each size for any future foster dogs I may have. Plues, thanks to dog.com, the price is sure right!

so I thought I would post. This is a training aid for you and your dog. Of course they can chew through it if you let them! My clip finally broke off completely after I had it for a many years. I had it on my rottweiler and after about 2 years one side of the clip broke but it still worked! Now the other day the other side broke, so I'm looking to get a new one. I highly recommend this head collar for any dog that pulls! Of course they don't like it but my dogs learned to live with it, peacefully.

My GSD (38kg) ate through his new Halti in 3 minutes - while we were in the middle of a walk in the park and before I knew it he had bolted. It works well, but not robust enough for large dogs who don't take to it. Been looking for the same design in a stronger material (leather etc.) but no luck so far.

I bought a size 1 Halti for my 2 year old blue heeler. He is 35 pounds so according to the sizing chart he should have been big enough for the size 2. It was way too big for his head and he slipped it right off. So I decided to try a smaller size. We practiced with it in the back yard for a while. Then the day came when we went for a walk using the hati. I got to my neighbor's house and he had snapped the nose band. We made it a whole minute from my front door before he broke it and he barely pulled hard. It really is a good concept. It just needs improvement.

We have mini-schnauzers that are very strong (and head strong)for their size, one adult and one puppy. Have been using harnesses but the dogs charge ahead on walks so it's a tug-o-war. Tried these in Size 1 which should fit (by weight). The dogs want nothing to do with them. Followed the instructions but as soon as its walk time and the lead is attached, they go nuts and manage to pull these off of their muzzles. We no longer have the packaging to return them or would try a size smaller. Going to look for something else.

I love the product. I have a 65 pound pit bull. She hates this collar but it is the only product that I can control her pulling with. However, one good snap of her head and she busts it apart, I have gone through 3 of these. I would just like to have one made stronger.

Consider the head size, not the body size, when ordering. I bought 2 size 5's for my 2 Anatolian Shepherd Dogs, both over 120lbs. They can both slip them off their noses, though, which makes them much less useful. No way to tell this from the website suggestions which show sizes by body weight. (By length of the two loops would be much more useful.) They have lab-like heads (as opposed to rottie for instance) so the size 5 is just too big. Otherwise the products are good quality (not excellent - ie: a few dangling threads) and both dogs tolerate them, although they're not their most favorite (don't like the pressure on the nose). But, they outweigh me by so much that even prong collars don't work if they're determined to go somewhere. At least with these I'm not being drug along the ground if they try to go!

I think I have tried everything to stop my husky/lab mix from pulling. Sporn worked for a while, then she just charged on. Gentle Leader drove her crazy and she would just set her head and keep on booking. She somehow managed to regularly choke herself with the "no choke" Gentle Walker. But with this collar, it actually turns her head and slows her down. It is quick and easy to put on. We are still working on heeling, but I am no longer being drug down the sidewalk.

My dog is an absolute angel, but unfortunately a very inquisitive and strong angel... I loved the idea of taking him on long walks on a beautiful day, but these walks turned in to disasters when he would constantly pull and jerk in his harness just to see another exciting thing that was passing by. At one point, going after a squirrel (they just can't help themselves), my dog actually injured my shoulder as he slammed me in to a parked car. I was almost ready to throw up my hands and get a choke collar, but the wonderful lady at the pet store told me about the Halti Head Collar. Within seconds of our initial walk with the Halti, I could tell my shoulders were saved! This collar is amazing, and I couldn't be happier. It took my angel a little while to get used to it, but if you follow the aclimating instructions that come with the Halti, it isn't so bad. I HIGHLY recommend the Halti!!

I have a wolf hybrid who is very strong willed and let me tell you that she constanly pulls on the lead, regardless of my constant training - she just loves to pull. However, when I bought the Halti collar it became the answer to my problem. I would strongly recommend this product to anyone having problems walking you dog on a leash.

We have always loved to hike with her lab but were challeneged when, at 8, she become completely blind. Shes good on a leash but the smells of a trail can be overwhelming and can tempt her to follow a scent right off a cliff - with one of us on the other end of the lead. The Halti has been a life saver, really! I combine it with a sturdy harness for a quick grab but have found the Halti keeps her focused on the trail, not the cliff!

I love this collar. From the first time I put it on my 6 month old boxer mix she walked perfectly with me. NO pulling, NO tugging, NO dragging, I used to be sore and tired after walking her fighting every step of the way now she is a pleasure to walk. We are both much happier thanks to the Halti. Before I bought this I had considered getting her a pinch collar, Im so happy I got this instead.

I love big dogs and usually have more than one. It woulb be impossible for me to walk my dogs with anything else. I no longer have the hand or arm strength. This collar is gental on the owner and the dogs and teaches eye contact early on.

This Halti has been a life saver. I own a boarding kennel & walk my dogs twice a day. Before I found the Halti this was not always an enjoyable part of my routine. Since Ive started using the Halti, its put the FUN & relaxation back into my day. I love it & the DOGS love it! Together with soft verbal reinforcement, its a very Positive training experience. After five years in business, Ive never had a dog that did not respond to the Halti. The only problem is keeping enough of them on hand for my clients to purchase!

I have a Springer Spaniel who has been a challenge, to say the least, to walk with a leash. My vet recommended this type of leash and said he has had very good results not only by himself but also by some of his clients. I was skeptical because it looked like a muzzle not a muzzle in the book but I ordered it and it is wonderful. Took a couple times for my dog to get used to it tried to pull it off but now he doesnt mind it at all and we can actually enjoy our walks. Definitely would recommend to anyone who is tired of your dog walkingdragging you!

We have three dogs, and the youngest was a terror on a leash making it difficult to take a leisurely walk. We looked at many products, even tried the Sporner in hopes that if he was connected to one of our other dogs he would be calmer. I ordered the Halti Head Collar, and now I must say our walks are 1,000 times better. Rex walks next to us, doesn't pull or run from side to side. It has made a huge difference, and has made our walks an outing and not a chore.
