A few months ago, I brought a few 3-4in. individual ones for my teacup chihuahua. The individual bully sticks were stuffed in a plastic shopping bag, and the smell was so bad that I didn't want to give to my tiny chihuahua. I'd thought the individual bully sticks were individually wrapped, but it wasn't. However, I did ignored the smell (when I got it), and I did gave one to my chihuahua. Yet, he chew a few times and left it. And after a few hours, I couldn't stand it anymore; the smell was overly horrible, so I ended up throwing all of them in the trash (which is a waste). However, I also brought a case of 9" bully sticks for my two german shepherds at the time, but the bully sticks in the case DID NOT SMELL period. Furthermore, the bully sticks in the case was zipped in a big zipper bag, not stuffed in a plastic shopping bag. I kept all of the case and continued to give it to my gsds. For months and even now, the bully sticks never once smelled (in the bag or when they eat it), so I'll be back for the cases again soon. Though, I'm debating if I should for the individual ones. Till now, I'm still wondering if packaging affected the bully sticks or I got bad individual ones to began with. For now, I'll recommend everyone to get the case (9") instead for the nice price and packaging.
