I dont know about you guys but this thing rocks for the price. I have been running it for a lttle over a week and its still going strong. the only prolemm is the instructions are not clear at all and the suction cups arent the best. other than that it is quiet, works great and its easy to acsess.

broken when it arrived. called to replace. representative was VERY nice and helpful. when i finally got a working filter, tubes stopped sucking water and melted the motor. all within a four hour span. very disappointing and sad for my little turtles

ran the unit for a month, first time to clean it out, never got it to run again...sounds like a 457 taking off... would never buy another one...

I recieved this in the mail last week. And first up, it had broken parts to it.
I didn't want to bother with returning it.
So sucked it up. The broken parts weren't going to cause it not to work, so not a big deal.
That was only the beginning.
The instructions are completely useless.
Some of the parts aren't even mentioned in the instructions, so you're left wondering what the heck they're for.
We finally got it set up after some trial and error.
Set it up. put water in to the canister... plugged it in. And I swear it sounded like the thing was seconds from exploding all over the place.
The noise that came from it was extremely loud and just... awful.
Next time, I'll just save up more and buy from a brand that I know will work. Save your money folks and pass this one.

This filter is so quiet I have to put my hand on it to feel if its working. HOWEVER - the instructions that come with it ARE THE PITS!! Totally vague, incomplete and unhelpful. There isnt even a set-up or connections diagram to help out! The manufacturer should be ashamed, because otherwise its a great product!
The filter comes prepacked with a coarse and a fine sponge, 2 small packets of carbon or similar chemical medium, and a good quantity of ceramic rings for biological filtration. Because of the lack of clear set-up instuctions I had to struggle with getting it running, but since it got started it has been trouble free. I like the fact that the filter gives me options for both the type of media inside the canister, AND the method of returning the filtered water to the tank. It includes both a perforated tube for gentle, wide-spread return or a fan-shaped nozzle for stronger, more directed return. Both can be positioned however you want, so you can create the type and direction of currents best suited to your tank. My only complaint minor point is that the tubing for the intake and return is VERY STIFF, which can make things a bit awkward at first. The tubing seems to soften slightly once its in use, so I can live with that.
The unit is small, compact and kind of high-tech looking, so even though its sitting right out where totally visible, its not an eye-sore or detraction from the tank. Another plus, as most filters arent very pleasant to look at.
I am very pleased with my purchase, and definitely would recommend this filter to friends. FYI - I use it on a 12-gallon community aquarium, with Zebra danios, leaf fish and a Betta.
